About Chris Lewis
I have been taking photographs around my hometown of Telford (Shropshire), Lake District, and Wales, for the last 28 years.
As you will see from images in the Galleries, my preferred photographic subject is the landscape, in particular the dramatic affect ever-changing weather conditions and seasons can have on our beautiful and diverse landscape. Occasionally, I apply more creative techniques to images of the natural world around us.
Images in the galleries have either been captured on 35mm transparency film (Velvia) and digitally scanned, or more recently on a Nikon D200/D700 and tweaked in Photoshop or Nikon Capture NX2. Virtually all images have been taken using a tripod and remote release to ensure optimum quality of the final image.
As a member of Wrekin Arts Photographic Club in Telford, and the Federation Internationale De L'Art Photographique (FIAP), I enjoy entering national and international photographic salons, with many of the images shown in the Galleries exhibited in national and international salons throughout the UK, Europe, America, South America, and Canada.
In 2004 I was awarded the distinction of EFIAP/bronze by FIAP, in recognition of work accepted in international salons of photography worldwide. Many images have been reproduced in books, magazines and calendars.
In 2009 the image "Silver Trees" was Commended by the judges and won a place both in the "Lansdcape Photographer of the Year 2009" awards book, and as part of a projection that ran at the National Theatre exhibition in London. www.take-a-view.co.uk
